Peterside Idah: NFF should not beg Vincent Enyeama again
Former Nigeria goalkeeper Idah Peterside has revealed LOSC Lille shot-stopper Vincent Enyemea should not be begged to come back.
There has been a clamour for the Lille of France keeper to return to the team after he quit acrimoniously. Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr is open to welcoming Enyeama back into the team as it was obvious the Eagles have a goalkeeping problem.
Peterside who was one the people who have had a conversation with Vincent Enyeama over a return to the national team said while speaking on Lagos Talk on Wednesday that Nigeria should move on.
“There is no need to beg Vincent to come back.
“He was having some issues with the FA and have announced he was retiring.
“I was asked to speak to Vincent to rescind his decision and specifically he said he had retired and that there is no going back.
“He was not going to play for Nigeria again.”
Vincent Enyemea has been capped 101 times for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and featured in 2002, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup.
