CHAN Eagles played out a stalemate against Cameroon in an international friendly
Home- Based Eagles were held to a goalless draw by Cameroon in an international friendly played at the Moulay El Hassan Stadiumon Wednesday night in Rabat.
The team who won the NPFL invitational in Abuja faced the Indomitable Lions who first found their rhythm forcing goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa to pull early saves.
Eagles were playing square balls and back passes, were very slow when attacking, compared to the quick breaks of Cameroon.
Rabiu Ali played three raking passes that let in Anthony Okpotu, but he was slow to react to one, as a defender robbed him of the ball once as he was squaring up to shoot.
After the break, coach Yusuf Salisu fortified his attack with Ibrahim Mustapha, Sunday Faleye and Emeka Ogbuh coming on.
Faleye seemed the most dangerous, but the defense of Cameroon made rubbish his attempt in the 64th minute.
Salisu shifted focus to the midfield, and pulled out Rabiu Ali for Ekundayo Ojo in the 70th minute.
Entering into the 75th minute, both sides now approached the game in a slow pace, looking tired.
Cameroon almost snatched the winner in the dying moments but substitute goal tender Oladele Ajiboye showed quality with a massive save.
