John Fashanu: Super Eagles should not to be afraid of England
Former Wimbledon FC forward, John Fashanu has opined that the Super Eagles of Nigeria should not be afraid of the English Three Lions as they will face off in an international friendly at the Wembley stadium on June 2 ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The 55 year-old who is an English television presenter and former professional footballer of Nigerian and Guyanese descent told reporters aftermath of the two nations friendly confirmation.
” I advise the Nigerian team not to be afraid of England.”
Nigeria qualified for their sixth FIFA Wolrd Cup in Russia and have been drawn in group D with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
England have met Nigeria on two previous occasions with a 1-0 victory at Wembley in 1994 and a goalless draw at the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan.
