It was the visitors who took the lead in the 8th minutes through Zhizhao Chen. Eran Zahavi made the goal after cutting Tianjin defence open with a through pass that put Zhizhao Chen one on one with the goalie and made no mistakes.
John Mikel Obi equalized for the home teams in the 27th minutes. The Tianjin TEDA captain was presented with an open goal after Frank Acheampong directed a square ball into his path for an easy tap-in.
Again Frank Acheampong was involved two minutes after the first goal as he set up Jiakang Hui for Tianjin TEDA’s second goal in two minutes.
The Ghanian striker swung in ball to Jiakang Hui who powered his header past the goalie.
The game ended 2-1 going into the halftime break and it remained that way at the end of the match.
