Simy eyes world cup after invitation to 30-man provisional squad
Crotone forward, Simeon Nwankwo, is looking determined to whatever it will take to make the final 23-man squad after making the 30-man provisional squad released by Gernot Rohr for 2018 World Cup.
The 26-year-old striker expressed his happiness at the call up and promised to do whatever it will take to be part of the team representing Nigeria in Russia.
“I am happy being part of the list and I can say it’s a result of my hard work here in my team,” Simy said.
“It’s not about what I’m bringing to the team, instead it is about giving my best with the opportunity and becoming part of a great group of players is a great thing.”
Standing 6’6″, Simy is the tallest striker in the Super Eagles set up, his height may be an advantage to him and the team, should the coach go big against Nigeria’s opponents in Russia.
Simy has scored 7 goals in 22 games (10 starts) for Crotone this season in the Italian Serie A.
