Modric: Croatia will not be deceived by Nigeria’s poor results

Croatia captain, Luka Modric is adamant his side will not allow Super Eagles poor results from their friendly games affect their preparation.

Nigeria and Croatia will lock horns on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium in their first game at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

And the Real Madrid midfielder who is expected to lead his team against Nigeria has warned his teammates against judging ‘unpredictable’ Nigeria by their poor results in their World Cup warn up games.

“Nigeria like us have not been having nice results but it doesn’t mean they are a weak side.

“Like most African teams they are unpredictable, so we have to approach our game against them without putting their friendly results in mind,” Modric said in an interview with Croatia TV.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have failed to win a game in their last four games after 2-0 loss to Serbia, 1-1 draw against DR Congo in Port Harcourt, 2-1 loss to England at Wembley and the 1-0 loss to Czech.
