With just one day before the commencement of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the World Football governing body celebrates a goal by former Super Eagles player.
FIFA took to their social media platform to remember the strike by former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh against Spain at France 1998 as it coincided with the day 20 years back.

The goal was Sunday Oliseh’s first and only for Super Eagles at World Cup and the goal gave Nigeria a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Spain in their opening game of the 1998 World Cup.
Nigeria went on to beat Bulgaria 1-0 in their second game but lost 3-1 to Paraguay in the last group game to qualify top of the group with 6 points.
Again, Nigeria will go at it this year in Russia hoping for memorable moments. Nigeria’s first game will be played on Saturday against Croatia by 8 pm.
