Ahmed Musa sets records at Russia 2018
Super Eagles attacker, Ahmed Musa has set records after scoring twice for Nigeria against Iceland at on going FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Ahmed Musa who was surprisingly included in the starting line up for Nigeria’s must win match against the Scandinavians scored in the 49th and 75th minutes to give the Super Eagles the maximum points on Friday.
Ahmed Musa’s brace against Iceland is his second brace at FIFA World Cup finals having scored a brace for Nigeria in their 3-2 loss to Argentina at the 2014 finals.
Ahmed Musa who was the first Nigerian to score a brace at the FIFA World Cup finals also became the first and only Nigerian to score a brace in a consecutive finals.
He also became Nigeria’s highest goal scorer at World Cup finals with 4 goals, Emmanuel Amunike,Daniel Amokachi, Uche Kalu with two goals each come second, while Rashidi Yekini the goal scorer of Nigeria’s first ever goal at World Cup, Samson Siasia, Finidi George, Mutiu Adepoju, Sunday Oliseh, Victor Ikpeba, Wilson Oruma, Tijani Babangida, Julius Aghahowa, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Osaze Odemwingie scored one goal each.
Ahmed Musa also became the first Nigerian to score in back-to-back World Cup finals after scoring twice in 2014 and also in 2018 (so far).
